Nancy Bloom

Nancy Bloom has been a summer and now full-time resident of Truro for the past 32 years. Nancy, a retired technology/business instructor with a passion for photography, is best known for specializing in photographing sailing events. Nancy also enjoys photographing nature, the sea, and Cape Cod. She is a big fan of Edward Hopper’s work especially his simple and beautiful paintings showing his love of the sea.
Nancy works as a photographer and Editor-at-Large for Yachting Times magazine, America’s bilingual boating and yachting lifestyle magazine. She is also a freelance photographer for Gatehouse Media where several of her images are included in the Provincetown Banner and Cape Codder.
She is the official photographer for the Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta. Over the years she has enjoyed photographing numerous Cape Cod and Newport, Rhode Island sailing events such as the America Cup Race, Volvo Ocean Race, Newport to Bermuda Race, Fisherman’s Cup Race, Long Point Race, Fiagwi, Arey’s Pond Catboat Gatherings and other races as far away as Newport Beach, CA to Ensenada, Mexico, Charleston, SC, Key West and Miami, FL.
Nancy is a juried member of the Cape Cod Art Association. Over the years she has won several awards in local, New England (NECC) and International (Photographic Society of America) contests. Her work has been included in several Cape Cod and Boston exhibits. Her images have appeared in numerous advertisements and publications such as Yachting Times International, Wooden Boat Magazine, US Boat, Cape Cod Life, Bird’s Eye View (Cape Air), Cape Cod View, American Schooner Association’s Wing & Wing, U.S. Hang Gliding & Paragliding, as well as local restaurant/dining magazines, websites, and more.
